Volunteers are crucial for operating a non-profit organization.

Volunteering for us is an enjoyable way of supporting animal welfare enjoying a rewarding experience. Consider helping us with one or more of the following activities:

Walking and socializing dogs / cleaning, feeding and socializing cats

Do you like dogs and/or cats and have some free time? Then you are in the right place! We have about 80 dogs and 60 cats in need of pampering and care. To start off, you will work alongside an experienced volunteer until you get the hang of how we work with the animals and know about animals that require special care and/or treatment. As you learn the ropes and get to know the animals better, you can venture into other types of tasks such as taking dogs to the beach or cats to the vet. We have two shelters - one for dogs, located in a rural area between Odiáxere and Mexilhoeira-Grande, and one for cats, in the center of Lagos.

Help at the charity shops

If you live in Lagos or the surrounding area, have you ever considered volunteering and helping out at the shops for 3 or 4 hours of your day? As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to join a small team working with the manager and one or two other volunteers to help the store succeed. Our charity shops need volunteers to help with the following tasks…. Operating as a sales clerk Sorting donated stock Pricing donated stock Organizing and displaying the articles for sale Helping with collections and deliveries as a van driver

Lagos shop : Rua Dr. António Guerreiro Tello, 10 Lagos (perto do Mercado de Santo Amaro) / Opening Hours: open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, closed on the weekend

Almádena shop : Largo do Poço, 32 Almádena / Opening Hours: open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, closed on Sunday

Participate in events

Are you a natural communicator and enjoy talking and interacting with other people? Then this type of volunteering is for you! We often organize different types of activities - collecting food donations, adoption campaings, fundraising - and need teams of volunteers who have communication skills and who represent Cadela Carlota in a cordial and confident manner.
