My life story: I was taken to the shelter in January 2022, a young mother, still nursing seven babies I had just delivered on the streets. I had always lived on the street, so I wasn’t used to humans and only with much difficulty they managed to catch me and take me to the Lagos kennels and, after that, to Cadela Carlota. Motherhood was difficult for me and it took me over a year to be socialized and to let anyone touch me.
My nature: it was difficult for me to get used to people and to being touched. I was always very afraid, so I shied away from them. It was with a lot of patience that a small group of volunteers managed to gain my trust and, after a lot of socialization, I was able to walk on a leash and finally was able to form bands with people and other dogs. I’m still shy, but I can lead a normal life without running away from everyone and I know that one day I’ll have a family and a home. I’m calm and I know I’ll be great company for someone who also likes a quiet life.
